A blog about Style, baking and, really, just beautiful things
When i was seven my family and I visited my Uncle Graeme in St John's Wood in north-west London where he lived before retiring to Malaga in Spain's south. After feeding the pigeons in Trafalgar Square mum, dad, my brother and sister told me we were off to have a tea with the Queen at 3.00pm. I vividly remember stepping through a side door of what i thought was Buckingham Palace anticipating a glorious array of afternoon tea treats fit for a Queen... And so i was led up the garden path and remain just as gullible to this day.
I'm the first to admit a love for pottering and finessing. On a Saturday, I'm in a blissful state after a walk to get coffee with Italian Greyhound, Twiggy, a muck around in the garden and a trip to ride my horse.
I like pretty things, but nothing pink. I love icing cupcakes with a lush Swiss meringue buttercream, and a weekend is not complete without a potter in my vege patch, a re-shuffle of the interiors in our art deco abode i share with my partner in crime, Miles, and a glass of riesling in the Sydney sun. And if time allows, and i have a commission on hand, i'll paint. Oh and did I mention I'm mad about cats? Archibald, the Devon Rex, will feature - he makes my heart content and matches the decor.
So a Tea with the Queen is my creative outlet. It is a manifest of things that I'm passionate about and want to record somewhere. You'll see interior design, baking, architecture, travel, flowers, cooking, creative ideas and more - all with one thing in common; they will pull at your visionary senses. Aesthetics satisfy me in so many ways whether I'm feeling creative, bored or stressed.
