Just a super quick post to let you know Muji is opening in Sydney on 14 May 2015 - haven't heard of it? Well here is a bit of what you can expect...
Muji is a Japanese retailer offering a broad range non-branded, affordable lifestyle products. They have spread globally with 610 stores worldwide in 25 different countries. They set up in Melbourne with 2 stores in Chadstone (2013) and Melbourne (2014).
The Sydney store will be at Level 1, The Galeries, 500 George Street, Sydney. It will stock men's, women's and children's apparel and accessories, furniture, homewares, skincare products, stationery, bedding and travel goods.
Globally, Muji is a bit of a super-brand - it is known for eco-friendly basics, selling apparel, homewares, cosmetics, electronics, and even builds homes. It has its own camping sites, once manufactured a car, has cafes and carries a wide variety of food lines including take home dinners. They use pesticide-free cotton and their towels are designed with a grid pattern so they can be easily cut up and recycled as cleaning rags!
The brand was established in 1980, and the name Muji means in Japanese 'no brand quality goods,' rather the products are characterised by their simple aesthetic and eco‐friendly minimal packaging.
