Danish design; Denmark's DJ's but way better - Illums Bolighus
March 21, 2015
Last weekend my devine childhood friend visited us in Sydney, taking a break from her glamourous European life where she comes across places like this...and kindly left behind its gorgeous printed catalogue.
This 24 piece set of BRONZE limited edition cutlery by Tias Eckhoff for Gense needs to find its way to my kitchen drawer ASAP. It's making my mind mental with design ideas for knives, forks and spoons!
I love this little glass and oak knick nak box by Anu Penttinen for Iittala. It measures 6x6 cm and it perfect for jewellery or in the kitchen or lounge for storing those small things that are in need of a home.
These polished BRASS flower pots from Skultuna come in two sizes, but the wider Skultuna range has more delicate metallic pieces including candle holders and 'ballerina bowls', as well as these brass tealight holders below. All screaming out to be combined with velvets, dark matt hues and winter knits.
Illums Bolighus has an entire home accessories section on their website where you can browse a range of bed linen which muted and lux in tone. I don't get too excited by the bed covers and sheets, but there cushions and quilts are quite nice.
Illums Bolighus's Missoni Home collection includes towels, which The Block contestants never seem to leave out of a bathroom reveal, and duvets, cushions and bathrobes. They do seem to be out of bath towels and cushions at the moment.
I haven't yet afforded myself the luxury of buying a Missoni bath towel given the prices, but one day i think i will 'woman' up and treat myself.
There is a expansive range of hanging lighting, with many lovely materials and designs. However, most of what you see here are not far from what you can pick up in Australia at replica specialists Matt Blatt or Beacon Lighting.
So was it the chicken or the egg that came first huh?
I like these GOLD CHROME Lightyears Calabash pendants. There are 3 sizes.
