I have a thing about gold, not the expensive-bullion type, but just the colour. Incorporating hints of gold into your home adds reflective colour, shine and texture. Here are a few tips on getting it right, too much and it gets tacky.
Make it work with your home's style with non-permanent additions
You can make gold work in both a playful-eclectic style, and in a more refined, lux-look.
It is that time of year again...Christmas shopping! If you are anything like me, you spend all year thinking of things you'd love for a Christmas or Birthday gift, and then when asked, those ideas completely escape you.
Here are the things i've picked out that i think would make fabulous gifts for moi, and maybe you or that someone special in your life.
We've opened a mini store on the blog! It's popping up until 18 December.
a Tea with the Queen is here to give me a creative outlet. I love having a place to write about designers, places i've travelled, share the thousands of photos i take, my baking adventures, interior design elements, awesome brands and creative ideas. And now, i have a place to design and sell goods! So EXCITING.
Our lovely architect (of Prescott Architects) gave us a heads up on this weekend's Sydney Indesign - a trade fair of bespoke, technical, and asthetically innovative designs, right here in Australia. Speaking to many of the designers today at the smaller stalls showed how passionately this bunch of talent is pushing to support homegrown innovation and manufacturing. Boy, was I in heaven for an hour today......
It's Saturday, i have coffee in hand, and i've just come across ABC Carpet & Home (thanks dear Lexi).
ABC is US based. They ship internationally so if you desperately wanted their products you can contact them for an international shipping quote, however, beware of customs duty on imported goods - it may well add considerably to the cost of your import. But, if you L O V E it, it's probably worth it....
